  2. Does the training emphasis match my stated goal?
  3. Is adequate recovery built into the structure?
  4. Is this something I can realistically maintain?

A program that satisfies all four is well-grounded regardless of its specific methodology. One that ignores one or more is likely to underdeliver — or worse, lead to injury.
